PTE Exam Overview

PTE is an English language test primarily used for Study Abroad Applications.

There are two main benefit of PTE exam –

1. a) Results are declared quickly. PTE test takers usually receives their results within 2-3 days.
2. b) Duration of the exam is just around 2 hrs which is shorter than most other exams.

PTE is a completely online test and everything must be completed online at a test centre. It has 4 sections: Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening. 

All candidates must complete four Modules – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking to complete the PTE test.  Unlike IELTS, all the 4 sections - The Listening, Reading, Writing & Speaking modules must be completed in one single day. The Speaking module will be recorded in the system while taking the test and will be accessed and marked by an invigilator later.

PTE has two versions of tests -

Academic

&

Core

Academic test is required for those who want to use PTE for Studying, while PTE Core test is required for those who want to apply for Jobs or Permanent residency. Both the versions of PTE have 4 sections: Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening. The questions on the PTE Academic version are SLIGHTLY TOUGHER than the similar sections in the Core version of the PTE test.

All candidates must complete four Modules – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking to complete the test and obtain its result.

The score Range of a PTE test is b/w 10 (Lowest) – 90 (Highest) marks.
