The Irish Government offers two types of student visa:

D- Student Visa - to study at an accredited Irish college or university, where course length is MORE than Three Months (Long term)

C- Student Visa - to study at an accredited Irish college or university, where course length is LESS than Three Months (Short term)

Ireland Study Visa Process & Reqd Docs

When to apply

One can start the process of Irish study visa up to THREE MONTHS before your intended travel date to Ireland.

How to Apply

1. Fill the Visa application form Online and pay the Visa fee (60 Euro).

2. Prepare your Visa documentation file with all relevant academic and Visa filing docs

3. Once your documents are ready, book an appointment at your nearest VFS centre–

4. Visit VFS - Submit your Visa application along with requested docs, and provide your biometrics

5. You may be requested for Visa interview (Case to Case Basis)

6. If requested, appear for the Interview and answer the questions honestly.

7. Once everything is completed, Visa decision is given within 4-8 weeks.

8. If decision is favourable, Visa will be affixed in your Passport.

9. Post Visa, book your Flights / accommodation...Best of Luck !

Required Documents

1. Valid Passport (Should have atleast 12+ month validity left)

2. Two Colour Passport Photographs

3. Language Proficiency Certifications such as - IELTS/ PTE/ TOEFL

4. Relevant Exam results such as - GRE/ GMAT (as applicable)

5. University / College Un-conditional offer letter

6. Medical Insurance for the period of your study

7. Proof of Tuition fee payment (At least 50% fee have to be paid)

8. Police Clearance Certificate ( PCC)

9. All your Educational Docs (10th, 12th, UG, PG) (as applicable)
